  1. From Senggigi & Mataram in Lombok pick up at your hotel 5am.

  2. From The Gilis take the 7.30am public boat and our staff will meet you at Bangsal harbor as you disembark.

  3. We can also arrange pick up from Lombok airport & hotels overnight in Senggigi or Senaru.

The day is started by a full briefing of the trek & registration with the Rinjani Trek Center (RTC). Transfer by car to Sembalun where we start our trek. The first leg of our journey takes approx 6-7 hours through open grasslands to Sembalun Crater Rim. We camp here for the night. Time to relax & have dinner whilst watching an amazing sunset over the Segara Anak Lake.

Early to bed.

Sembalun Crater Rim - Summit - Lake- Hot springs- Senaru Crater Rim

An early wake up call at 2.30am to start the ascent to the summit of Gunung Rinjani (3726m) taking approx 2-3 hours. The terrain is mostly loose scree or stones and the ascent is steep therefore it can be strenuous. If you wish you can always remain at camp for this part of the trek. However it’s certainly worth the effort as you will be greeted by an awe inspiring sunrise with views of Bali to the west and Sumbawa to the east whilst enjoying a great sense of personal achievement. Arrive back at camp around 8.30am. Time for a good breakfast and a rest.

The trek continues for two hours descending down to the lakeside. Here you have time to relax easing your weary muscles in the hot springs or even try your hand at a little fishing. In the afternoon a two hour ascent to Senaru crater rim where we camp for the second night whilst watching the sun set over the horizon.

Senaru Crater Rim-Senaru

The last day it’s all downhill for around six hours to Senaru. This journey takes you through coffee plantations and beautiful tropical rain forest where you may catch glimpses of black Macaque monkeys in the trees. Trek finishes around 1-2pm.

Time to leave Senaru taking with you some amazing memories of the mighty GunungRinjani volcano.
